We build software
that people use every day
A small software company in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. We build what businesses actually need, and we teach the same work — in English and in Hindi.
How this started
A jewellery shop in Bhilwara was writing every bill by hand. The rate and making charges were worked out on a calculator, the bill was copied into a register, and who still owed money lived in a separate khata book. At the end of a month, nobody could say for certain what had been sold or what was outstanding.
So I built the software that shop needed. It makes the bill, keeps the customer and the sale together, tracks what is still owed, and sends the bill on WhatsApp instead of writing it out twice. Three shops now use it every working day.
That is how The Web Engineer started, in April 2026. Not with a plan for a company — with one business that had a real problem.
Who is behind it
I am Abhay Kumar Pandey, a software engineer and a final-year B.Tech student in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. I build the software, I write the courses, and if you email the address on this site, I am the person who replies.
Being small is the point. You talk to the person writing the code, not to an account manager passing messages along.
Why the courses
Building something that a shop depends on every day teaches things a tutorial cannot: what happens when the internet drops halfway through a bill, why a number must never be stored as text, what a real user does that you never imagined.
The courses are written from that. Every lesson has a video in English and in Hindi, because the explanation that finally makes something click is often in the language you think in. Two full courses are free, and they stay free.
Where we are today
One product, three businesses using it, seven courses, and a company six months old. That is a short list and I would rather show you the short true one than a long invented one. It gets longer from here.

Stack we reach for
We are not religious about tools. If a project genuinely wants WordPress, we will say so rather than sell you a rebuild.
Want to work together?
Four questions on the contact form and you will have a real answer within a day.
Get in touchWhat we hold to
Not values on a wall — these are the decisions already made, before a project makes them awkward.
Say the inconvenient thing
If your idea has a flaw, you hear it in week one, not month three. If a spreadsheet would do the job, we will say so rather than sell you software.
You own everything
Your repository, your accounts, your domain. No proprietary layer that makes leaving expensive. Lock-in is a business model, not an engineering one.
Performance is a feature
We test on a mid-range Android on throttled 4G, because that is what most of the world uses. A site that is fast only on your MacBook is not fast.
Accessibility is not a phase
Semantic markup, keyboard paths and contrast from the first commit. Retrofitting it later costs five times as much and is always worse.
No AI theatre
We will tell you when an LLM is the wrong tool, and we do not ship an AI feature without an evaluation set. The assistant on this site says plainly that it is retrieval, not a language model.
Teach what we learn
Two complete courses are free, and they stay free. The knowledge was never mine alone — I learned it from people who published theirs.
Everything else
Two ways in.
Hire us to build it, or learn to build it yourself. The free courses genuinely cost nothing.
